As a part of Washington State’s continuing effort to transform lives and increase the community-based services available to behavioral health clients, Residential Care Services (RCS) created the Behavioral Health Unit.

Established in 2018 through funding from the Governor’s Mental Health initiative, the Behavioral Health Support Team (BHST) is comprised of consultants and training specialists whose services are available free of charge statewide on a voluntary basis to providers caring for or considering admitting individuals with challenging behaviors or interested in training.    BHST staff are not complaint investigators, surveyors or licensors; services correlate with Washington Administrative Code to improve the quality of care and compliance with state regulations.

If you are interested in receiving these services, please contact the BHST and provide the following:

    • Facility name and contact person
    • If applicable, resident name and DOB
    • Name and contact information of person making referral
